Earth Day 2024: Workshop on Single Use Plastics Directive

Every April 22nd, millions of people join the world’s largest environmental movement: Earth Day. Individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life unite in a global effort to advance sustainability and climate action. The organizers in earthday.org highlight the pivotal role that consumers, voters and communities can have in influencing the the course our planet takes: “Don’t understimate the impact of your voice!”. This statement is closely aligned with more4nature’s vision on environmental challenges.

The central theme of 2024’s Earth Day campaign is “Planet vs Plastics”. The aim is emphasizing the collective commitment to tackle the plastics crisis head-on aiming for a bold 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040 and aspiring to forge a plastic-free future.

More4nature joins the celebration of Earth Day 2024 through a workshop organized by our partners from Coastwatch. This workshop celebrates the approval of the Single Use Plastics Directive and explores how the Directive is to be applied with special focus on the banned disposable items. The workshop delves into understanding how to jointly tackle ban-resistance of some products like disposable plastic cutlery.
