From data to action: how municipalities can use low-cost sensors and passive samplers

Polish Smog Alert Webinar on June, 17

Polish Smog Alert invites you to a webinar on the practical use of low-cost sensors and samplers to monitor air quality in municipalities. The meeting is organized as part of the more4nature project. The starting point for the conversation will be a guide to good practices developed in cooperation with municipalities.

Participation in the webinar will help you understand how to:

  • use data from low-cost sensors and samplers more effectively in your municipality’s activities;
  • better plan local measurement campaigns and choose where to install devices,
  • understand when low-cost data is particularly useful and what its limitations are,
  • use measurement results in communication with residents and local partners,
  • show the health consequences of air pollution in a simple and understandable way,
  • build local partnerships around data,
  • strengthen local anti-smog activities through better recognition of sources of pollution and the needs of residents.

During the webinar, the “Guide to examples of using low-cost sensors and samplers for air quality monitoring” will be presented. The publication shows how data from sensors and passive samplers can support the actions of local governments: from identifying local sources of pollution, through communication with residents, to planning remedial actions, education and creating arguments for local air protection policies.

The training is intended for eco-managers and employees of municipalities responsible for air protection, environmental policy, environmental education, communication with residents and anti-smog activities. The meeting is organized as part of the more4nature.
